With each epidemic or pandemic, from Swine Flu to anthrax, SARS, H1N1, and many others, access to public health data has improved. The severity and urgency of the corona virus (SARS-CoV-2) outbreak and global pandemic of Covid-19 have provided the impetus for researchers, governments and other organizations to create public-facing websites for open access to volumes of data. When asked, "where do I begin?'" by non-scientist family and friends, it's hard to know where to tell them to begin!
